About the MCC
The Multicultural Center is a Chartered Student Organization
(CSO) of Santa Clara University.
The Multicultural Center,
or “MCC,” is dedicated to developing programs which educate the greater SCU community on cultural awareness and
diversity.
The heart of the MCC lies within its nine cultural clubs; Arab Cultural Society,
Asian Pacific Islander Student Union (APSU), Barkada the Filipino Student Union, Chinese Student Association
(CSA), Igwebuike the African-American Organization, Intandesh the South Asian Organization) Ka Mana’o-O-Hawai’I,
Celebrating the Spirit of Hawai’i) MEChA—El Frente,
the Chicano/Latino Organization; and the Vietnamese Student Association
(VSA)
The MCC is also upheld by
an Executive Board which consists of the MCC Director, Assistant Director, paid staff members, At-Large members, and a representative
of each of the nine MCC clubs. Applications for Staff positions are accepted until all positions are filled each academic
year, and applications for At-Large members are accepted sporadically throughout the year.

MCC Events
CULTURAL SHOWS
Each club holds an annual cultural show, where it showcases history, art, dance and music, as well as important
issues, in order to educate the community about the cultural realities they advocate.
MCC WEEK
This week-long program exposes SCU to many of the different cultures present on campus. Learn about the MCC’s

GLOBAL VILLAGE
The corner of The Alameda and Market St. gets closed down for this annual street fair extravaganza.
See live sage performances; experience food, crafts and art from around the world; and meet local vendors and small business
leaders!
MCC BEARY’S
Music has the Grammys. Movies have the Oscars. The Multicultural
Center has “MCC Beary’s.” Here, the MCC hosts an award
ceremony open to the entire SCU community to celebrate the end of the year and the MCC’s Accomplishments.
