The Arab Cultural Society is a cultural organization dedicated to promoting the Arabic heritage and culture. We seek to increase the general public awareness of Arabs and to enhance a better understanding of the Arabic culture and ethnicity. ACS hopes to counter negative stereotypes and to erase misconceptions about the Arab people by displaying our past and present contributions to humanity. ACS acts as a venue where Arabs can join together and represent their ethnicity without confusion or fear. Finally, ACS aims to create a sense of community among Arab-American students at Santa Clara University and beyond. We welcome people of all backgrounds to participate in our wonderful club. Ehlan wah sehlan!

Barkada is a student organization that focuses on the Filipino culture and heritage at Santa Clara University. Loosely translated, barkada means "a group of friends." As a "Barkada," club members have the opportunity to participate in a variety of cultural, social, and community service activities. Barkada's largest cultural event is the annual Pilipino Cultural Night held during spring quarter. Pilipino Cultural Night is a student-run performance that showcases traditional as well as modern Filipino dance and music. Other cultural events, to name a few, include hosting speakers and cultural presentations, and forums addressing ethnic issues.

Barkada also plans social activities that aim to acquaint members and non-members. These activities include Barrio Fiesta (which is an outdoor concert for charity), dinners, picnics, retreats, dances, and an annual rafting trip. Finally, Barkada also encompasses a community dimension. Barkada collaborates with other community organizations with the common goal of educating others about the Filipino culture.

Founded as the Black Student Union in 1967, but changing its name to Igwebuike in 1985 after a massive movement to create the Multi-Cultural Center, this organization aims to promote awareness of African-American issues and provides numerous social and educational activities as well as support for students.  The word "Igwebuike" is Igbo for "In Unity There Is Strength."  This Unity is a major goal of Igwebuike today.  Other goals of Igwebuike are: to set good examples for one another, as well as for the African-American community; recruit both current students (for Igwebuike) and prospective freshmen (to enhance future community); and to retain our members.

MEChA—El Frente

MEChA stands for Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan. MEChA's general purpose is to promote the preservation and development of the Santa Clara Latino/Chicano community. MEChA aims to create an environment conducive for the development of identity and awareness of the Raza student by promoting a cultural, social, political, and academic consciousness. MEChA also strives for principled unity among the Santa Clara Raza community. Solidarity among Santa Clara Raza is the foundation for all social and political activities. Brotherhood and Sisterhood not only unites us but makes us stronger and better able to deal with the pressures we face as students of color. One of MEChA's major events is the week-long festivities, including workshops and events, to celebrate Cinco de Mayo.
